IDEAS
My first idea as a project was to create a documentary about tyler the creator , I wanted to deeply analyse his album , Flower boy. However as it states in the brief , it needed an interview. I wasn't sure how to create some sort of interview as its more of a global topic. Not only that i would have to be careful that it didn't turn into some analysis video.
I also wanted to go outside my comfort zone this project , create something different than what my normal theme is. I have already done a tyler the creator video before , i wanted to do something else.
i took huge inspiration of a video named , Flower boy : a conversation.
This conversation, which gives detailed information about each and every track of Tyler’s new album, Flower Boy, is between Tyler, The Creator and Jerrod Carmichael, a good friend of Tyler’s. It has an almost 60-minute conversation about the album, from the inspiration of how each track came to be, to the different kinds of elements of each track and how they came to fruition. The interesting part of this entire conversation is why it is called a “conversation”, because if this were an interview, awkwardness and discomfort would consume the entire video, but it isn’t. This video is simply a conversation between friends about a certain project said friend has created.

My second
idea for my documentary was to analyse the artwork. I admired his work and I
really wanted to delve deeper into the infamous mans work. I had a pretty strong idea on what I wanted
to do about this project, but I had one roadblock. And that was conducting
interviews. Who was I going to interview for this documentary?
Also,
throughout my ideas I was making sure I didn’t produce a ‘global ‘documentary
as it would be to difficult to make and you don’t just want archive footage as
it isn’t your own work. I want to make my project as realistic as possible and
what I mean by that is that I want it to be mostly my footage. This just in a
whole makes you appreciate your work.
My third idea
was my final choice, I was really interested in the general election this
December and when I was brainstorming ideas I came across an idea of analysing
teenagers on politics. I could back up this idea more and I had so many
different ideas to stem of this topic. It isn’t something I have done before so
it’s a risk but like I previously stated I wanted to open my ideas more. I can
interview people from the college as they are the perfect target audience for
what I am looking for.
What I want
to highlight this project is that I am analysing whether my generation (17-18) year
olds are actually not interested in politics or has the interest and knowledge
increased. Politics Is now the.
I am countering the idea of whether or not my generation ( the teenagers ) are deprived of knowledge on politics , analysing is a key in this documentary. I want to be fair and agree with both arguments. I am analysing both sides of a story but making both influential in their own way , therefore this could be seen as a participatory documentary.
Documentary Project Proposal
Working
Hypothesis and Interpretation
My main idea for my project is to create a documentary about young generations knowledge on politics , I want to analyse what they think and how much they actually know , the title is
'' DO WE CARE ? ''.
'' DO WE CARE ? ''.
Topic
the topic is analysing our generations views on politics , I was debating whether to make the documentary , formal or informal. Manly because teenagers would probably be more engaged if it was more down to their level , not some plain interview and some really boring guy. I want to keep it straight , clear and understandable but also a hint of coolness to it.

Main
Characters
I will interview people from my college as that is the perfect age , I will interview people with a citizenship and people with not. To compare peoples knowledge.
