SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT
My final project went very well in my opinion. I did a documentary on whether teenagers care about politics or not. The reason why i chose this topic was because i wanted to see if that the recent rise of politics in the news had actually taught us anything. I made sure i used all the techniques a documentary needs to be a good documentary. I wanted to make this documentary more about are age , as i spoke in my research , there are too many documentaries about politics that are just not interesting. So i tried to counter that and i think i did that successfully.
My profiled target audience is 17-20. The age where politics first really comes into life. As i said , i wanted to make it more for our age. I also needed to make sure i educate people that are not in that age gap so there is a true meaning towards the documentary , which i think i did as i used statistical facts to show the viewers the argument . I spoke about in my research that this more than essay than a debatable argument , this is because when i wrote my script it was written as a message to everyone that we do care rather than an equal argument.
However to improve this project i need to plan better , i didn't follow my planning notes enough so that affects the whole project.
For my research i first reviewed a documentary myself so I could understand what techniques a documentary has so i could put it into mine , the documentary was ' grizzly man' . Also for my research i looked into modes and conventions so i knew what they meant and how i could use the techniques for my own piece. I also analysed ' Bowling for Columbine ' as it is a really good documentary and shows a lot of techniques that i may use in mine.
overall i just wish i planned my time better , timing was key especially in this project as i had two others at the time , i believe my research lacked depth in what i wanted to do , however it did help solidify the knowledge of documentary techniques.
to conclude i think this project went really well , i was really pleased with how this project went , I really tried to make sure this went like a proper documentary , i wish i could of planned my time better however i believe the final outcome was good.
